By the way, the Whittier Tunnel is the coolest tunnel ever. More of a cave than a tunnel. One lane, fabulously dark. No concrete on the walls, just the blast marks from the dynamite. Seriously cool. I look forward to going through it when there's 5 million tons of snow heaped on top of that mountain.
There were bunnies outside the WeeBee Burgers.
Terrible burgers. Great strawberry Italian soda.
Right outside Portage Valley park, just after getting out of the tunnel. I will miss this view.
Some little boat across the water.
The road back to Anchorage.
It was a stunningly beautiful day.
There sure aren't many of them, but the ones they do have, are glorious.
Fall colors. They didn't come out too well through the dirt on my windshield.
There's a real pretty marsh on the other side of the blur.

and when I look up into the small, posted mirror,
I watch you diminish - my echo, my twin -
and vanish around a curve
in this whip of a road we can't help traveling together.

I particularly liked this tree.
